Chivla Beach

Chivla beach is located to the north of sindhudurg fort and is a pretty cove. Scuba diving is organised from Chivla too however the actual dive site is near Sarjekot. People are taken in a boat to Sarjekot dive site from Chivla which hardly is a 10 minute boat ride.

Sarjekot Beach

Located about 5 kms away from Malvan town, Sarjekot has lots to offer people visiting the place. Sarjekot beach where water sports is organised is on the other side of the Sarjekot jetty. Sarjekot is a small cove with a rocky stretch on its northern side. Sarjekot jetty is also an ideal angling spot.

Dandi Beach

Dandi is a fishermen hamlet and doesnot have much to offer as a beach however water sports is organised at Dandi beach in Malvan because of which the sea shore is frequented by a lot of tourists. Tourists are also taken to SCUBA dive site near the walls of the fort from Dandi beach.

Sindhudurg Fort

The main attraction in Tarkarli apart from the beaches is the famous sea fort of Shivaji - The Sindhudurg fort. The ferry to visit the Sindhudurg fort is available from the Malvan jetty which is just two kms from the Malvan town. MTDC trained guides are available to take you on a guided tour of the Sindhudurg fort.

A Fort after which the district was named Sindhudurg fort is the most prominent landmark of this region. Built between 1664-67 AD by Shivaji maharaj, the Sindhudurg fort has it foundation laid on molten lead. One of the best preserved sea forts Sindhudurg fort has a four kms long rampart with 42 bastions. The fort is approachable from the Malvan pier by boat
